Eligible applicants include Nonprofits (501(c)(3) organizations with primary purposes related to land preservation, environmental protection, or wildlife preservation) and Public Agencies. Projects must be located within or adjacent to the Lower American River Parkway between Hazel Avenue and the confluence of the American River with the Sacramento River.
The Lower American River Conservancy Program seeks projects that result in enduring benefits to the Lower American River Parkway. Funding supports land acquisitions, capital improvements that expand, restore, enhance, interpret, or protect natural, cultural, historic, recreational, and educational resources, as well as community access projects. Priorities include improving water quality and enhancing interpretive and educational facilities related to the Parkway.
